Dear Players, Fans and Sponsors:

The 2013 inaugural Boston NHL Alumni Pro-Am benefitting Children’s Hospital, in association with the Boston Bruins Foundation was a tremendous success raising over $350,000 for the pediatric head trauma care unit and continued research into the field of concussion prevention.

Fourteen teams took part in the inaugural event, representing over 252 players. Paired with these teams were NHL Alumni players including Bruins greats, Ray Bourque, Terry O’Reilley and Brian Leetch.  The event weekend comprised of a Draft Party on the Friday night which took place at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge and the games were held at the Marlboro Sports Center. In addition, the Bruins Foundation hosted a fund raising concert which raised $10,000 towards the event.

The event garnered a high profile in the Boston area thanks to its partnership with NESN, which aired the PSA over 250 times during March and April; many during Bruins broadcasts with an estimated ad buy value of $160,000. In addition the event was supported through Bruins in Game segments on the HDX, social media and digital channels of the Boston Bruins and radio spots on the Sports Hub.

We anticipate this event growing exponentially over the next few years in both participation and profile with a goal of raising $1 million dollars annually to support Pediatric initiatives. We would like to thank all those involved and especially the sponsors for making our first year an incredible success.
